Jewel Park
When describing the village where he lives, Show Management System's founder refers to Barrington as "Chicago's Connecticut". Easily commutable to Chicago's loop by train, the sleepy suburb also boasts numerous equestrian estates, a fox hunt, and a community riding center.
Jewel Park, the site of the Kassel's former home in Barrington, the property was purchased by IDOT in 2019 under eminent domain and razed to the ground. As the railroad grade separation project has not commenced, there is now just under half an acre of bucolic semi-wooded lot making the spot ideal for an imaginary venue for demoing the Show Management System to interested organizers.
In reality, the plot barely has room for four turn-out paddocks, but just pretend, shall we, that there is a grass derby field, an all-weather hunter ring, and an indoor arena on the site.
The Barrington area offers numerous shopping, dining, and lodging amenities. Some unique, others not-so-much.
